  The Western Steel Council is an Association of Reinforcing, Miscellaneous and Structural Steel  fabricators, erectors and placers.  It was formed in 1959 and is the  largest of the 12 Employer Associations signatory to the District  Council Agreement.  The Western Steel Council members  contribute 80% of all Associations’ hours reported to the trust funds.   The primary purpose of the WSC is to negotiate and administer labor  agreements on behalf of ironworker employers throughout the states of  California and Nevada. The Western Steel Council represents  employers at grievance hearings and provides a valuable service in  interpretation of the Master Labor Agreement as well as applicable  Cal-Osha Standards.  In general, the Council acts as the employer’s  advocate and information source on all personnel, labor relation,  jurisdiction and safety issues.
